Purposes, retention and legal grounds

Browing data: we handle IP addresses and domain names of the computers used by visitors of our website, time and date of the access to the site and other parameters such as the operating systems. Legal grounds are:

for essential and preference cookies, the legitimate interest of the controller because we need to ensure the correct working of the website;
for analystics and marketing cookies, the consent.

Newsletter subscription: We handle email and other contact details, as given by the user. Legal ground is the consent, given when confirming subscription. The data subject can always object to the processing activities following the links on each of our newsletters. In this case the data subject will not receive our newsletter anymore. Data will be retained until the revocation of the subscription.

Contact requests and CV: data given for requesting contact will be used for answering to the requests. Legal ground is the purpose to take steps at the request of the data subject prior to entering into a contract. Data will be retained for three years for quality control and, in case of CV, for contacting the data subjects; data may be retained up until 11 years if they are on backups.

Social network: Pharus is joint controller with some social networks (Twitter and because we use some tools proposed by them for analytics. Legal ground is the consent given by the data subject when entering in our site and when subscribing to the social network. Retention time is set by the social networks.

Transfer of personal data

For the storage of the material, contact details and documents related to the contest, data will be transferred to external companies, specialized in archiving and IT system management. External providers and suppliers agreed, with written contracts, to process data only for the stated purposes and adopt suitable security measures and processing controls. All external subjects ensure their assistance for the fulfilment of the obligations to respond to requests for exercising the data subject's rights and audit right.

Some of the Pharus sites are in Switzerland, i.e. not in EU.

Data subject rights

Data subjects have specific rights. Among them:

to obtain from the controller confirmation as to whether or not personal data concerning him or her are being processed, and, where that is the case, access to the personal data, their rectification or deletion, restriction or block;
